Firecracker

07.02.11

Kicking of July and Independence weekend, Keeley Kay headed to a poolside BBQ with Mama, Daddy, Chark and Darlen. It was a beautiful day and Keeley Kay loved splashing around in the sparkling water. It was a day filled with good food, good friends and good times.

Happy 4th of July! Decked out in her red, white and blue, Keeley Kay was ready to show her independence. Keeping it easy breezy, the family stayed home, had a BBQ, pool-time and ended the night with some sparklers.

Summer is in full swing and Keeley Kay took a walk on the wild side at the San Diego Zoo. It was a glorious day. Starting with a leisurely lunch outdoors at Albert’s and ending with the magical roar of the lions at night. Although Keeley Kay loved all the animals her favorite that day were the Bonobos. The baby Bonobo enjoyed interacting with Baby Keeley Kay, giving her quite a show. So much to see and do! This definitely won’t be Keeley Kay’s last trip to the Zoo!

Party time again! This time the Porter’s were down for a visit and the family headed over to Uncle Johnny’s for some fun in the sun. Today wasn’t just special because she got to visit with family, but today was the day that Keeley Kay took her first official steps alone!! Motivation….ICE CREAM!

Silly picture!

07.12.11

Today was cousin Shay’s actual birthday. To celebrate the family went out to one of Shayden’s favorite restaurants, The Old Spaghetti Factory. Keeley Kay tried Mama’s all-time-favorite dish…Mizithra Cheese Spaghetti. YUMMY!!! Keeley Kay couldn’t get enough of the salty goodness. Just like the rest of her family, Keeley Kay will be an Old Spaghetti Factory regular.

It’s a Birthday Boy Bowling Party! Cousin Shayden celebrated his 7th birthday with a kicking bowling bash. Daddy taught Miss Keeley Kay how to roll the ball down the middle. In a few years time she will probably be in a bowling league of her own, following in Mama’s footsteps as an ultimate bowler.

Never stopping, Keeley Kay was off again. This time she spent the day with family enjoying the sun and the relaxing pond at Tom’s Farm. Keeley Kay partook in some of the farm’s activities, such as riding the train with Daddy and going round and round on the carousal with Mama. It was a wonderful summer’s day.

Just another day by the pool.

07.23.11

It was a bit early…actually a month early, but Keeley Kay has such a big family that the birthday celebrations had to get started. Great Aunt Kathy had a gift that couldn’t wait until Keeley Kay’s actual birthday, so Mama threw a mini-soiree by the pool. Keeley Kay had a blast, despite having a bad cold that decided to settle in her eye. Poor baby.

It was Keeley Kay’s first picnic with her cousins Shayden and Shyler. It was a restful day, perfect for chillin’ outside under the warm summer sun.

07.31.11

The Circus came to town and Keeley Kay came to the Circus. It may have been Mama’s birthday, but it was also Keeley Kay’s first time under the big tent. What an exciting day it was too. Keeley Kay had cotton candy for the first time and a sugar buzz to go along with it. Keeley Kay was entertained for the full two and a half hours, watching the dancing elephants, well-mannered tigers, dare-devils, dancers, clowns and tumblers. It was non-stop visual fun, but the day did not end there. Oh no. After the Circus Keeley Kay was whisked to Lazy Dog where more family was waiting to celebrate Mama’s birthday. It was a busy and fun-filled day.

Like fireworks light up the July sky

Keeley Kay is like a little firecracker

With a bright smile and a twinkle in her eye

From parties, to the Circus and even the Zoo

Keeley Kay’s summer is full

So many things to see and do

Just a little baby Keeley Kay sure breaks the mold

Summer is not over

Let’s see what August will hold
