FELIZ CINCO DE MAYO!! Family got together for a fiesta at El Cholo to celebrate life, because every holiday is a major event in this family. Mama and Keeley Kay even sported matching authentic Mexican dresses. Ole!

Cousin + Movie+ Popcorn= A Great Time!

05.09.13

A big day of firsts for this family! First airplane ride for the kids and the first airplane ride for Grandma in 30 years! The kids were awesome travel buddies. Despite Grandma’s fear of flying and all the work, it was totally worth it, because an epic week in Florida awaited them!

05.10.13

The first day in Naples, Fl was all about kicking back and enjoying the amenities at the Waldorf Astoria. The day started with lunch on the beach, followed by splashing around in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and going down the waterslide by the pool. The kids were beat after a whole day in the Florida sun and were too tired to even eat at the Sunset Reception that evening.

05.11.13

Color-coordinated in their teal fashions, the family had full day of activities planned. Morning mimosas, lunch at Tin City, a frozen custard snack in Downtown, dinner at Café Luna and bit of night swimming before night-night.

05.12.13

Happy Mother’s Day!! Taking advantage of the picturesque surroundings, the day was spent by the beach and pool. To celebrate Mama and Grandma, the family enjoyed a delicious meal at The Dock. Later ending the evening with a late night pizza at Roma’s in Downtown for Keeley Kay, since she slept through dinner.

05.13.13

Zoo Time! First, the family watched a pack of alligators feed. It freaked Keeley Kay out a little bit. Then the family loaded onto the primate cruise, which floated through the many islands housing various primates in their natural habitats. The highlight of Keeley Kay’s day was getting to feed the giraffes. Thanks to Keeley Kay, the giraffe and a very big snack! After hearing the lion roar, making a new friend at the bear exhibit and almost becoming a tiger’s lunch, the rest of the day was spent exploring Florida’s native plants. Keeley Kay called the rubber tree her Halloween Tree because it was spooky.

Working up an appetite, the family headed to Daddy’s favorite, El Fernando the Bull Cuban Cafe. The family feasted on Vaca Fritta and sipped on Sangria. Yummy!

Then it was off for a night cap at McCabe’s Irish Pub for some Guinness and fried brie.

 05.14.13

Adventure day!! Leaving the comforts of Naples behind and venturing out to the swamps of the Everglades, the family boarded an air-boat for further exploration. Almost being attacked by a brazen pelican, dodging and weaving through the narrow waterways, engaging a pack of wild raccoons and holding a baby alligator made this very exciting and memorable day.

Working up an appetite the family enjoyed shrimp, clam strips and gator nuggets at the Seafood Depot overlooking the Everglades.

To cool off after a long and sticky day, the family met up with some friends by the pool before heading to Steak & Shake for dinner. Everything on the menu is under $4!! Heck ya!

05.18.13

Home from vacation and off to a party. That’s how Keeley Kay and Kevin Ross roll. Happy Birthday Cousin Allyson!

05.26.13

Congrats to the Grad!! Cousin Sarah is officially a college graduate!! YAY!!

Last Disney-day for a couple months, so family squeezed in as much fun as possible. Exploring bugs, helping to tell stories of Peter Pan, driving cars, dancing the night away, visiting Mini Mouse’s house and watching the fireworks. Bye Disneyland. Until we meet again.
